1 min read

An Ontario truck driving school has partnered with a charity to provide student drivers with real-world training and experience.

Commercial Heavy Equipment Training (CHET) students, supervised by instructors, will haul freight from commercial warehouses to United Way Halton & Hamilton’s (UWHH) community donation warehouse.

The partnership enhances student driver training while supporting UWHH’s transportation requirements, according to a news release.

CHET instructors will utilize warehouse wait times for additional training opportunities, including pre-trip inspections.

“This partnership with CHET is a powerful example of how collaboration can create real impact in our community,” said Brad Park, UWHH president and CEO.

“This partnership will further cement CHET’s dedication to its students and graduates to prepare them the best for the realities of truck driving,” said Sophia Sniegowski Begidzhanov, corporate communications officer, Musket Transport, the parent company of CHET.
