Trent Siemens announced on LinkedIn has been appointed vice-president of fleet maintenance and BVT operations at Steve’s Livestock Transport, bringing more than two decades of experience in transportation to the role.

Prior to joining the company, he held a role of vice-president of safety, maintenance and driver services at Kleysen Group for more than four years, where Siemens oversaw the maintenance of more than 1,000 fleet assets, the company’s safety program, as well as the orientation and training programs for all Kleysen staff.

His earlier career experience includes serving as director of maintenance for more than seven years at TransX Group of Companies, holding a role of general manager of Oak Point Service heavy-duty repair shop for nearly six years, and working in various roles at Big Freight Systems over the span of 17 years.

Musket celebrates 20+ year employees with spring BBQ

Musket Transport honored long-serving employees during its annual spring BBQ last Thursday, May 29, recognizing those who have contributed more than 20 years of service to the company.

Nearly 150 guests — including Musket staff, their families, community partners, and vendors — gathered for the 20+ Year Fleet Champions Recognition event, which highlighted the dedication of employees whose long-standing service has helped shape the company’s growth and success, according to a news release.

“We’re proud to mark this milestone with so many of our team members who have been with us for years– even decades,” said Andy Balij, president and CEO of Musket Transport, in the release. “Their dedication speaks volumes about the culture we’ve nurtured since Musket’s founding.”

Musket awarded custom commemorative jackets to both hourly and salaried support staff during the event. Co-owners Balij and Wojtek Swiercz personally handed them out.

Musket says the celebration’s highlights included a three-container mural painted by Musket staff member Troi, and two container cut-outs converted into a condiment station and bar-style dining area by employees Kirk and Rio. Guests gathered under Musket-branded tents and a covered picnic area to enjoy food and shelter from the rain.

The celebration also brought together several community leaders and partners, including representatives from the Toronto Business Development Centre, United Way Halton & Hamilton, Covenant House, and Youth Without Shelter.
