Wellington Group welcomes back Daniel

Wellington Group of Companies announced the return of Tony Daniel to the team, now serving as director of business development.

Daniel brings years of more than 20 experience in logistics and transportation to the job – most recently, he worked at Ameri-Connect Freight Services, serving as vice-president of North American Logistics. Daniel’s earlier experience includes working at Groupe Robert, Midland Transprort, Canadian Tire, FLS Transportation Service, Quarterback Transportation and more.

“His proven ability to build lasting partnerships and deliver meaningful, results-oriented solutions speaks volumes. With his leadership, industry expertise, and collaborative mindset, Tony will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and evolve our approach to transportation solutions,” said Brett Rolland, vice-president of business development, in an announcement.

Amish joined Motive five years ago after holding senior engineering roles at Meta, Amazon, and Square. As CTO, he will lead engineering efforts focused on scaling the company’s AI-powered platform.

Hemant, who previously held product leadership roles at Uber Eats and Stripe, will lead Motive’s AI product development. He aims to expand Motive’s impact across safety, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.

“We’re elevating leaders who’ve proven themselves over the years and care deeply about our customers,” said Shoaib Makani, co-founder and CEO of Motive, in a news release. “Amish has led our connected device organization since 2020, delivering exceptional products… Hemant joined in 2019, launched the Motive Card business, and scaled it into a major growth engine.”

Truckstop founder Moscrip returns as interim CEO

Truckstop has announced the return of company founder Scott Moscrip as interim CEO, following the departure of Kendra Tucker from the role.

Moscrip founded the freight technology company in 1995, according to a news release.

“I’m honored to return and lead the company I founded during this pivotal time,” Moscrip said in the release. “Truckstop has always been centered on the customer, and I’m excited to continue driving innovations that help our customers run profitable businesses, operate with confidence, and have fun doing the work they love.”

A national search to identify a permanent CEO has been initiated by Truckstop’s board of directors.
