Windrose, Terawatt complete dual-gun charging tests

Windrose Technology and Terawatt Infrastructure say they’ve successfully completed the testing of a dual-gun charging technology for heavy-duty electric trucks at Terawatt’s flagship site in Rancho Dominguez, Calif.

The tests used two 350-kW chargers from Delta Electronics to deliver more than 650 kW of combined power to a Windrose truck, enabling a 240-mile (384 km) range charge in about 40 minutes, according to a news release. The companies say this level of performance meets the needs of high-utilization commercial fleets and signals readiness for scale.

Beyond the hardware, Windrose and Terawatt are now working on deeper software integration, connecting Windrose’s vehicle systems with Terawatt’s site and energy management platforms. This effort will enable more intelligent charging, increased uptime, and improved TCO for fleet customers operating at scale, according to the release.

“This partnership is about more than performance metrics—it’s about delivering real-world solutions to the fleets driving the energy transition,” said Wen Han, founder, chairman and CEO of Windrose Technology. “Together with Terawatt, we’re aligning vehicle and infrastructure platforms in a way that scales efficiently and delivers immediate value to customers.”

The companies are also launching joint customer programs to support the rapid electrification of heavy-duty fleets across the U.S., including deployments at Terawatt’s active charging hubs in Southern California and future longhaul locations along the I-10 corridor between Los Angeles, Caif., and El Paso, Texas.

Additional joint testing and customer pilots are planned throughout the summer, with deployments expected to accelerate in late 2025.
