Trimac Transportation has promoted Lance Hagler to vice-president of safety, effective June 30, the company announced.

Hagler, who will report to Trimac’s chief operating officer (COO), will oversee company-wide safety strategy and lead Trimac’s safety teams while working with operations to drive safety performance and engagement.

“Lance has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to building a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout our operations,” said COO Ryan Collinge in a news release. “His leadership will help further enhance our safety program, and we look forward to supporting him in this new chapter.”

Hagler joined Trimac in 2014 as U.S. director of safety, where he led new safety initiatives, improved driver training and compliance, and built relationships with industry partners, according to the release.

Before Trimac, he worked in various safety roles at Conway Freight (now XPO Logistics) and as a transportation enforcement investigator with the Missouri Department of Transportation, specializing in hazardous materials.

He is a certified director of safety with the North American Transportation Management Institute and an associate safety professional with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He has also served as chairman of the National Tank Truck Carriers’ Safety and Security Council and as the organization’s western region chairman.
