Against the backdrop of a persistent rate recession, soft freight market, and uncertainty around tariffs and trade, trucknews.com has signed as media sponsor of FTR’s Transportation Conference Sept. 8-11 in Indianapolis, Ind.

The four-day conference features two full days of trucking discussions and two days of rail analysis. It features high-level speakers from all aspects of the industry — shippers, suppliers, transportation providers and analysts. Trucking companies for years have attended the conference to gain insights into where the market is headed.

“FTR Transportation Intelligence has long been a trusted source of accurate economic data and insights in the trucking industry,” said Joe Glionna, president of Newcom Media, which produces trucknews.com and other trucking-specific brands.

“Our editorial teams view FTR analysts as a valuable resource when developing content that puts readers first. This media sponsorship reflects that ongoing relationship.”

The 2025 agenda for FTR’s 21st Annual Transportation Conference features four focused days covering truck equipment, truck freight, rail freight, and rail equipment. Attendees gain access to the latest forecasts, strategic outlooks, and expert perspectives across trucking, rail, intermodal, and equipment.

“For 21 years, the FTR Transportation Conference has brought together the brightest minds in freight to navigate complex market challenges and uncover opportunities,” the company said in a release.

The complete agenda can be found here, and registration is available here.

FTR chairman Eric Starks is being featured in a five-part video series in the lead-up to the conference.

Part 1 focuses on the macro-economy, where it’s at and where it’s headed.

Part 2 examines the Class 8 truck market, the pre-buy that wasn’t, and where demand is going.

And Part 3 focuses on tariffs, and their impact on equipment prices and freight flows. Look for more videos in this series in the coming days.
