Autonomous truck maker Aurora has tapped McLeod Software to create what it says is the industry’s first transportation management system (TMS) for autonomous trucks.

McLeod will allow fleets using autonomous trucks to seamlessly integrate those vehicles into their existing operations and transportation management processes, the companies announced.

McLeod Software is used by more than 1,200 fleets to manage scheduling, dispatching, billing, and more.

Customers using Aurora self-driving vehicles will be able to use the platform to tender loads and gain real-time visibility into their autonomous operations.

“Our partnership with McLeod marks a key next step in delivering a premium, customer-centric product and service,” said Ossa Fisher, president at Aurora. “By meeting customers where they are within their existing TMS, we’re making it easy for them to tap into the safety and efficiency benefits of autonomous trucks.”

“Integrating Aurora’s autonomous capabilities into our TMS platform provides our customers with a pathway to adopt Autonomous Tractors within their operations,” added Tom McLeod, founder and CEO of McLeod Software. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to providing cutting-edge technology for our customers, empowering them to optimize their operations and embrace innovation with confidence.”

Beta testing is underway with a commercial rollout planned for next year.
