Autonomous truck maker Kodiak Robotics and upfitter Roush Industries announced the delivery of the first Kodiak Driver-equipped truck produced at Roush’s Livonia, Mich. facility. The truck was delivered in August to Atlas Energy Solutions, according to a news release.

Atlas began taking delivery of Kodiak Driver-equipped trucks in December 2024 and launched driverless operations in the Permian Basin. To date, Atlas has received eight autonomous trucks, as part of an initial 100-truck order placed with Kodiak.

“Taking delivery of the first Roush-upfitted truck is another example of how the future of freight is arriving,” said Don Burnette, founder and CEO of Kodiak Robotics.

Roush said the milestone proves its contract manufacturing process can meet Kodiak’s technical standards while supporting future scale. “We’re playing an important role in putting this technology where it belongs, into commercial service,” said Brad Rzetelny, Roush’s VP of contract manufacturing.
