About 70 volunteers from across the Trucks for Change Network (T4C) rolled up their sleeves at Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank for another food sort challenge recently.
The participants from T4C transportation companies and sponsors sorted 25,692 meals in less than three hours, smashing last year’s total by more than 4,000 meals, according to a news release.
Executive director Betsy Sharples said in the release, “Our network members play an indispensable role in tackling hunger by trucking food to food banks across the country. The food sort challenge is our way of saying thanks — it’s about giving back, building connections, and having a great time while making a real difference.”
The volunteer teams represented: Abrams Towing Service; Eassons Transportation Group; Erb Transport; International Motors Canada; JD Smith Logistics Solutions; Kriska Transportation Group; Left Lane Associates; Northbridge Insurance; OTA Next Generation; PMTC Young Leaders; Polaris Transportation; Tandet; Thomson Terminals; and Volvo Trucks Canada.
