Brandy Abrahamson, a commercial driver with GLS Canada/Rosenau, won the Ann Taylor grand champion trophy at Alberta Motor Transport Association’s (AMTA) 75th Professional Truck Driving Championship.

Abrahamson, the first female winner of the trophy, also took first place in the straight truck category of the competition, according to an AMTA news release.

Drivers competed in one of five categories — straight truck, pup-trailer/day cab, tandem day cab, tandem bunk, and B-train — each showcasing the challenges and expertise demanded by their vehicles, as well as participating in a written exam, and pre-trip challenge.
