The B.C. Trucking Association (BCTA) is urging carriers to apply for the CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency (HDVE) program before the Aug. 31 deadline.
Applications for the program, which is in its sixth year, will close sooner if funds are fully allocated, according to a news release.

Funding is running out quickly due to the high volume of interest and applications, BCTA said. To help more carriers qualify for rebates on eligible fuel-saving equipment, the association has added HDVE program course sessions on Aug. 5 and Aug. 7.
BCTA said that applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Submitting documents early does not guarantee a spot in the queue or that funding will still be available when the application is reviewed.
