Thousands of people thronged the fourth annual Big Iron Show and N Shine to check out the scores of shiny big rigs in Woodstock, N.B.
Last weekend’s show attracted 112 trucks and more than 2,200 visitors. The community event that celebrates the trucking industry included live music, food vendors, a scavenger hunt for kids and fireworks.
Each year, Big Iron raises tens of thousands of dollars for local charities. While this year’s numbers are still being tallied, organizers hope to donate close to $40,000 for women’s shelter, Sanctuary House in Woodstock.
The event has raised $150,000 for charity over the past three years, with $57,000 being collected in 2024, according to show organizers.
