Winnipeg-based Birkett Freight Solutions is celebrating 30 years in business. Founded in 1995 as Neil Birkett and Sons, the company has grown from a single truck operation into a full-service fleet specializing in refrigerated transportation across Canada, according to a news release.
Still family-owned and operated — led by father-and-son team Neil and Robert Birkett — the business rebranded to Birkett Freight Solutions as it expanded. Over the years, the company expanded its services to include warehousing and distribution, cross-docking, truck rentals, and a truck repair shop.
“Refrigerated freight is a demanding industry, but it’s one we’ve always taken pride in,” Robert Birkett, who represents the second generation in the business, said in the release. “We’ve embraced new technology, adapted to changing regulations, and grown our fleet — but at the core, our values haven’t changed. We still believe in doing good work, treating people right, and delivering on our word.”
Neil Birkett, founder and company president, added, “When we started, it was about getting the job done with grit and a handshake. Today it’s about precision, communication, and service — but we’ve never lost that family-driven mindset.”
The Birkett family credits their dedicated team of drivers, staff, and long-time customers for helping the company reach this milestone. As part of the celebration, Birkett Freight Solutions will host a private appreciation event to recognize the people who have contributed to its continued success.
