Stephen Fletcher, chief human resources officer of Canada Cartage (Ontario), was named the HR Leader of the Year during a special presentation by Trucking HR Canada (THRC).
The award was presented as part of THRC’s Top Fleet Employers gala dinner Oct. 15 in Toronto. The award celebrates a human resource professional who exemplifies HR practices within their organization and is a role model to others.
Accepting the honor, Fletcher thanked his team for making an impact at Canada Cartage over the years. “I couldn’t ask for anything more and look forward to continuing doing so in the future,” he said.
In a video played at the event, Fletcher’s colleagues highlighted his transformational leadership skills, ability to nurture a culture of growth, wellness, and inclusion, as well as his creativity in recruitment programs, as some of the reasons for his nomination.
