FMSCA removes 150 providers from TPR in two weeks

1 min read

The number of training entities removed from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Training Provider Registry (TPR) has risen to 244, up from 94 two weeks ago.

In its latest update, the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA), said that FMSCA accelerated its enforcement actions against noncompliant training providers under administrator Derek Barrs’ new leadership.

“This action represents a modest but noteworthy step toward ensuring that only qualified and compliant training providers remain in the system. While that ultimate goal is still very far away, we want to note the modest moment of progress,” the association wrote. “CVTA appreciates FMCSA’s partnership in working to police the integrity of the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) system and hopes that this new era will usher in sizeable changes in the amount of enforcement activities.”

More than 2,600 entities remain under proposed removal, with hundreds more requiring further scrutiny. CVTA said it will continue to collaborate with FMCSA and state partners to ensure the TPR reflects legitimate, high-quality training programs.
