Manitoulin Transport and Traction UAP hosted their 17th annual charity golf tournament June 23-24, raising more than $150,000 for charity and bringing the total raised by the event to more than $2 million.

The event was held at the Muskoka at the Rocky Crest Golf Resort and Lake Joseph Golf Club. Funds raised will go to the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity and Ontario Trucking Association Education Foundation.

The Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity plays a vital role in improving the lives of seriously ill children and their families, Manitoulin said in a release, while the OTA Education Foundation supports higher education to Ontario students with ties to the trucking industry.

Former NHL players Brad May and Curtis Joseph took part in the event, which organizers say sells out every year.
