EV maker Mullen Automotive has consolidated its Bollinger Motors and Mullen operations and will now go by the name Bollinger Innovations.
The companies’ consolidation includes moving operations to Oak Park, Mich. The company has eliminated 155 jobs as part of cost cutting efforts and reduced its operating expenses by US$35 million annually.
Consolidating the two companies will eliminate redundancy as the manufacturer continues to focus on Classes 1, 3 and 4 commercial vehicles.
“After the consolidation, we are laser focused and confident we will drive our products into the market while being fiscally responsible under one unified brand,” said Jim Connelly, chief revenue officer of Bollinger Motors.
“The consolidation of Mullen and Bollinger brands and operations provides the company with significant savings in marketing, sales, engineering and operational expenses,” added Jonathon New, chief operating officer for Mullen Automotive.
The company’s commercial EV line includes the Mullen One Class 1 cargo van and Mullen Three Class 3 cab chassis truck. It also offers the Bollinger B4 chassis cab, an all-electric Class 5 truck.
