Samsara announced a new scholarship in partnership with Trucking HR Canada (THRC) to support the next generation of trucking leaders.

The one-time $5,000 scholarship, revealed at the 2025 Top Fleet Employers gala in Toronto Oct. 15, will be awarded to a post-secondary student whose parent works in the trucking and logistics industry, helping to invest in the future of Canada’s transportation sector while honoring the families who keep it moving.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Trucking HR Canada to support students with deep ties to the transportation industry,” said Charlie Cubeta, senior manager at Samsara, Canada. “This scholarship is our way of giving back by recognizing the hard-working families that form the backbone of our economy, while simultaneously investing in the next generation of innovators and leaders.”

The scholarship is open to students enrolled in an accredited college or university in Canada. To be eligible, applicants must have a parent employed by a company that is a Top Fleet Employer company of THRC.

Applicants must submit a two-minute video filmed vertically in a style for social media. The video will not be assessed on any editing or production quality, according to a news release. Applicants are encouraged to share personal stories by responding to one of three prompts. The prompts ask students to reflect on how their parent’s career has made them feel proud or inspired, shaped their values, or influenced their understanding of the broader economy and supply chain.

“Trucking HR Canada and Samsara have a shared goal to support our sector and the families who shoulder responsibility for making Canada’s supply chain run,” Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC, added in the release. “Our Top Fleet Employer program is the perfect conduit for this funding that invests in our collective commitment to the long-term future success of the sector.”

Applications will open on Nov. 15, and can be submitted via the THRC website.
