Schneider launches Fast Track premium intermodal service

1 min read

Schneider National has introduced a new premium intermodal service, Schneider Fast Track, aimed at shippers moving time-sensitive and high-service freight. The company says the offering combines its asset-based truckload and intermodal capacity with strategic rail partnerships to improve transit times and service consistency.

Shippers can convert just-in-time, inter-plant and customer freight from over-the-road to intermodal, gaining more secure capacity alternatives and cost efficiency without sacrificing speed, the company claims in a news release.

Schneider reports that early adopters of Fast Track have seen transit times up to two days faster than competitors on key U.S. and Mexico lanes, with on-time performance above 95%. The service has been used extensively for automotive freight moving from Mexico to Kansas City, Chicago and other destinations, and is now expanding to additional lanes.

Key components of the program include prioritized rail placement, optimized drayage, expedited recovery processes and 24/7 tracking and proactive communication through Schneider’s Center of Excellence. The company also highlights its security record, noting a 99.99% theft-free performance in the U.S. and Mexico in 2024.

Jim Filter, executive vice president and group president of transportation and logistics, said in the release, “Fast Track gives shippers peace of mind with unmatched speed and consistency, supported by our professional drivers and robust nationwide network of company-owned assets.”

“We designed this solution to meet the demands of shippers who can’t afford delays, offering speed, control and confidence across every mile,” added Michael Baumgardt, senior vice president and general manager of intermodal.
