Schneider marks first anniversary of Cowan Systems acquisition

1 min read

One year after acquiring Cowan Systems, Schneider National says it has achieved several significant milestones.

“The Cowan acquisition was one more step in Schneider’s ongoing strategy to elevate dedicated solutions for shippers,” said Schneider executive vice president and group president, transportation and logistics, Jim Filter.

“By connecting Cowan’s regional expertise with lightweight equipment to Schneider’s nationwide scale and operational capabilities, we’re transforming what dedicated solutions provide — greater efficiency, flexibility and value. Our dedicated growth isn’t just about expanding capacity; it’s about unlocking new opportunities for our drivers and customers.”

The acquisition expanded Schneider’s dedicated fleet to nearly 8,600 trucks while adding lightweight equipment to its fleet.

It also strengthened Schneider’s regional footprint, complementing its coast-to-coast network. Cowan has also benefited from Schneider’s investment in technology, the company said in a release.

“Joining Schneider has been an exciting transition for us. It’s opened up tremendous opportunities — not just for our associates, who now have access to more resources and career growth, but also for our customers, who benefit from the added strength and efficiencies Schneider brings to our operations,” said Cowan president Steve Wells in a news release. “Being part of Schneider’s portfolio enhances our ability to deliver dedicated solutions and positions us for long-term success.”
