Trucking Announcements: Leadership changes at ATA, DTNA, CCM, Tip Group

This week, Daimler Truck North America has appointed Michelle Randazzo as its next chief financial officer, and Henry Hanscom, Alex Rosen, Nathan Mehrens and Brenna Lyles were promoted at the American Trucking Associations. TIP Group has appointed Arjen Kraaij as its new CEO, as Bob Fast is stepping down after 22 years leading the company. And Breah Stump joined the team at TEN as chief of staff.

Meanwhile, the Intermodal Association of North America has elected its 2026 board members and an intermodal chassis pool manager CCM has appointed Tim DeMichiel as its COO, and promoted Deborah Langdon to chief people and culture officer.

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada raised and donated funds for The Salvation Army’s Christmas Collection Drive. And Wills Transfer has named Derek McParland as branch manager of its Brockville, Ont., operation, while Truck Country appointed Dan Deppeler as vice president of aftermarket.

DTNA names CFO

Daimler Truck North America has appointed Michelle Randazzo as its next chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1. She will succeed Stefan Kurschner, who plans to retire after more than 30 years with Daimler AG and Daimler Truck AG. But he will remain with DTNA through January to support a smooth leadership transition.

In her new role, Randazzo will oversee all operational and strategic controlling and accounting functions across DTNA’s brands, including Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp., Detroit Reman and Daimler Vehículos Comerciales México.

Randazzo joined Daimler Truck in 2002 as a senior financial analyst at Thomas Built Buses and has held a range of leadership roles spanning financial planning, reporting, pricing, product costing and purchasing, the company said in a news release.

Leadership changes on ATA’s advocacy team

American Trucking Associations president and chief executive officer Chris Spear has promoted four staff members to senior leadership roles within the organization’s advocacy arm, effective Jan. 1.

As Ed Gilroy is preparing to step down after 13 years with the organization, Henry Hanscom will succeed him as chief advocacy and public affairs officer, overseeing legislative affairs, regulatory policy and the Office of Public Affairs. Hanscom joined ATA in 2013 as manager of legislative affairs and most recently served as senior vice president of legislative affairs.

Alex Rosen will now take over as senior vice president of legislative affairs and will lead ATA’s Hill Office. Rosen joined ATA in 2019 and has worked on both the policy team and in legislative advocacy, representing the association before House and Senate lawmakers. Prior to ATA, she worked for the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Nathan Mehrens, meanwhile, is promoted to senior vice president of regulatory affairs and workforce policy and will oversee ATA’s policy team. He joined ATA in 2022 and previously served in senior roles at the U.S. Department of Labor, including associate deputy secretary and deputy assistant secretary for policy.

Brenna Lyles has been promoted to vice president of safety policy. Lyles joined ATA in 2023 as director of safety policy and was named senior director in 2025. She previously served as assistant director of state legislative affairs at the Texas Department of Transportation and earlier worked for the Center for Transportation Research.

TIP Group names Kraaij CEO

TIP Group has appointed Arjen Kraaij as its new CEO, succeeding Bob Fast, who is stepping down after 22 years leading the company. His tenure saw TIP expand well beyond its origins as a trailer rental business, growing into a full-service equipment provider with more than 130 locations across Europe.

Kraaij, meanwhile, brings nearly three decades of experience in transportation as has previously served as deputy TIP’s CEO for four years. He joined the company in 2014 as M7A director, and held various roles since, including vice president of corporate development and chief commercial officer.

In a LinkedIn post, Kraaij said TIP’s Strategy 2030 roadmap will guide the company’s next phase, with a focus on smarter and more flexible fleet management, digitalization, sustainability and full-service support.

IANA names 2026 board officers

The Intermodal Association of North America has announced the election of its 2026 board officers, who will assume their roles Jan. 1.

Christopher Brach, senior vice president and general manager of Radiant Road & Rail, was elected as the chairman of the board.

The board also elected Shawn Tureman, vice president of intermodal and automotive at Norfolk Southern, as vice-chairman, and EJ Bronwasser, vice president of operations at Milestone Equipment Holdings, as treasurer.

Joining the 2026 board for three-year terms are newly elected and re-elected directors Shelli Austin of InTek Logistics, Jeffrey R. Brashares of CMA CGM America, Andrew Johnson of CSX Transportation, Kevin Lhotak of Reliable Transportation Specialists, and Dennis Monts of PayCargo. Continuing their service on the board of directors are: Ronnie Armstrong of Ocean Network Express North America; Donna Lemm of IMC Logistics; Garry Old from COFC Logistics; Kari Kirchhoefer of Union Pacific Railroad Company; and Bob Milazzo of MSC Inc.

TEN appoints Stump as chief of staff

TEN has welcomed Breah Stump to the team as its new chief of staff, a role in which she will support the company’s executive leadership team on strategic initiatives and strengthening cross-functional alignment in the company.

She brings experience in business management, strategic operations and executive leadership support, TEN said.

Prior to joining TEN, Stump served at JP Morgan Chase & Co for more than 11 years, most recently having held a role of vice president and business manager.

PMTC Young Leaders Group raises funds for Salvation Army

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s Young Leaders Group hosted a Driven to Lead alumni panel and experiential activity event earlier this month, raising funds for The Salvation Army’s Christmas Collection Drive.

The event took place Dec. 3 brought together Young Leaders Group participants and PMTC members for a morning networking session and discussions around leadership development in transportation.

The group raised $350 through the event, with PMTC contributing an additional $500, resulting in a total donation of $850 to The Salvation Army’s Christmas Collection Drive.

CCM appoints COO, chief people and culture officer

Intermodal chassis pool manager CCM has appointed Tim DeMichiel as its chief operating officer and Deborah Langdon as chief people and culture officer.

DeMichiel joins CCM with more than 15 years of leadership experience in shipping, logistics and terminal operations. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s operational and technological growth and support the execution of its strategic priorities. Prior to joining CMM, DeMichiel served as senior vice president of terminal operations at CMA CGM and previously held leadership roles at Ports America and Barclays Capital.

Langdon, meanwhile, has been promoted internally to chief people and culture officer after playing a key role in shaping CCM’s organizational culture and talent strategy, the company said in a news release.

Truck Country appoints aftermarket VP

Truck Country dealership group has appointed Dan Deppeler as vice president of aftermarket.

He will be overseeing parts and service operations across the organization’s 15 stores in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Deppeler brings more than 20 years of experience spanning finance, operations and technology within the trucking and transportation industry.

Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of maintenance at Paper Transport for more than 13 years, and before that he spent more than nine years at Schneider National, rising from a senior financial analyst role to the controller of the company’s logistics transloading and distribution.

Wills Transfer appoints McParland as Brockville branch manager

Smith Falls, Ont.-based carrier Wills Transfer has appointed Derek McParland as branch manager of its Brockville operation.

McParland brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics and operations, the company said in a LinkedIn post, adding that throughout his career, he has led high-performing teams, implemented process improvements and managed operations in complex, fast-paced environments.
