Huayi Tire Canada names vice president of sales and operations
Huayi Tire Canada (HTC) has appointed Dave Hatch as vice president of sales and operations. He succeeds long-time leader John Hagg, who is now retiring.
Based in Varennes, Que., Hatch will oversee the company’s national sales strategy, operations and customer experience efforts as HTC continues to expand its presence across Canada, according to a news release. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the tire and automotive sectors, including past senior executive roles at Dynamic Tire, where he served as president and vice president of products.

His earlier career also includes owning and operating Autocam for six years before selling it to Coast Tire. He remained with Coast Tire following the acquisition, managing several locations and contributing to the company’s growth and expansion initiatives in Quebec.
“Dave’s extensive industry experience and deep market understanding make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Aaron Murphy, senior vice president of CMA/Double Coin, in the release. “His ability to connect strategic vision with operational execution will be instrumental as we continue to expand our presence in Canada.”
Apps Transport welcomes a new commercial lead
Apps Transport Group announced Patricia Dal Ferro joined the company as its new commercial lead, and she will be overseeing its sales and marketing operations.
Dal Ferro brings more than 30 years of transportation industry experience, including leadership roles at Purolator and TFI. The company says she will focus on growing the business, supporting customers and building on recent investments in service quality and digital platforms.

Spring Creek Carriers celebrates 30 years in business
Beamsville, Ont.-based Spring Creek Carriers is marking its 30th anniversary in the trucking industry. The company has grown from a startup founded by two college friends into a mid-sized fleet.

The founders Mark Bylsma and Calvin Bergman launched operations in 1995 with a single Hino straight truck. Today, Spring Creek operates 45 power units and 60 trailers.
In a news release, the carrier said the milestone reflects not only its growth but the contributions of drivers, dispatchers, dock workers, dock and maintenance staff, office personnel, vendors and long-time customers who helped shape its success.
Ryder supports Oshawa Generals Generosity Bear Toss
Ryder supported Mackie Transportation and the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club’s annual Generosity Bear Toss on Dec. 1 by providing a rental truck used to collect and distribute donated teddy bears across Durham Region.
The stuffed animals were delivered to charitable organizations later that day. This is the third consecutive year Ryder has participated in the initiative.
Sutherland Group helps prepare for Rutland Light Up event
Staff from the Kelowna, B.C.-based Sutherland Group of Companies volunteered alongside the Salvation Army Kelowna to prepare food for the Rutland Light Up celebration, helping pre-cook chili for families attending the annual holiday event.
