Trucks for Change lends helping hands to Habitat for Humanity

1 min read

Trucks for Change (T4C) members came together in early September to help Habitat for Humanity deconstruct a home in the Waterloo, Ont., area, making room for a future multi-home build.

The new building will provide safe, affordable housing for local families, Trucks for Change announced. More than 30 volunteers from six partner organizations chipped in.

It was the sixth year the organization partnered with Habitat for Humanity, collectively providing more than 2,000 hours of assistance.

“Habitat for Humanity events are always popular and a highlight for our T4C partners,” said Betsy Sharples, executive director of Trucks for Change. “This initiative is another example of the trucking sector’s deep-rooted commitment to supporting vulnerable Canadians in communities where we live and work — whether we’re delivering essential goods or rolling up our sleeves to help build brighter futures.”

Participating companies included: The Erb Group; Kriska Transportation Group; Mill Creek Motor Freight; Northbridge Insurance; Tandet; and TransPro Freight Systems.
